DEATH CASE INVESTIGATION: PERSPECTIVES ON THE PROCESS
May 20-21, 2009
This seminar is for officers and investigators who have little previous training in death related cases or those who desire a refresher seminar on these types of investigations.. Topics to be covered include: (1) role of forensic science in death case investigation; (2) typical wounds encountered in such cases; (3) evidence collection and methods of transport; (4) case specific crimes and situations; (5) dealing with witnesses; (6) suspect apprehension; (7) basic interview and interrogation methods; and (8) importance of documentation for successful case conclusion.

APPROVAL BY MARYLAND POLICE AND TRAINING COMMISSIONS: This program has been submitted to the Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commission for in-service training hours. For information on the status of this application, call Jacob Haber at (302) 654-9091.

DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Program will be conducted May 20-21, 2009 at the Hyattsville Police Department, 4310 Gallatin Street, Hyattsville, Maryland. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

FEE: $295 per person. Agencies enrolling three or more persons in this program are entitled to claim a 15% team discount.
