POLICE RECRUITMENT: MANAGING THE PROCESS
December 8-9, 2008
An all-new, two-day seminar for persons new or with little experience in overseeing their agency's recruitment process. The program is ideal for those who have taken the previously offered, "pre-employment background investigation" seminar. It goes beyond that program's content to explore in-depth important aspects and topics specifically concerned with the recruiting and hiring of suitable candidates for departmental openings. Topics include: (1) the changing workforce in the United States; (2) federal hiring law and EEC guidelines; (3) management strategies for staffing and supervising a recruitment unit; (5) using the Internet; (6) sample advertisements and scripts; (7) minority hiring and affirmative action programs; and (8) experiences of successful and unsuccessful recruitment campaigns.

DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Seminar will be conducted December 8-9, 2008 at the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Police Institute on the campus of Nova Southeastern University, 8585 South West 124 Avenue in Miami, Florida. Specific directions will be provided on confirmation letter. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily

FEE: $295 per person. Agencies enrolling three or more personnel in this program may claim a 15% team discount.
