An all-new, two-day seminar for persons
new or with little experience in overseeing their agency's recruitment process. The
program is ideal for those who have taken the previously offered, "pre-employment
background investigation" seminar. It goes beyond that program's content to
explore in-depth important aspects and topics specifically concerned with the recruiting
and hiring of suitable candidates for departmental openings. Topics include: (1)
the changing workforce in the United States; (2) federal hiring law and EEC guidelines;
(3) management strategies for staffing and supervising a recruitment unit; (5) using
the Internet; (6) sample advertisements and scripts; (7) minority hiring and affirmative
action programs; and (8) experiences of successful and unsuccessful recruitment campaigns.
DATE/LOCATION/TIME:
Seminar will be conducted May 11-12, 2009 at the Essex County College Police Academy,
250 Grove Avenue, Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to
4:00 p.m.daily.
FEE: $295 per person . Agencies enrolling three or
more personnel in this program are entitled to claim a 15% team discount.
